Author Talk: Jon Silverman and Robert Sherwood
- Date

- Category
- Research seminar
The authors of Safe Haven will introduce their research on why there was only one conviction out of hundreds of cases against the Eastern European Nazi collaborators given refuge in Britain after 1945.
Jon Silverman and Robert Sherwood show that, after the passage of the controversial War Crimes Act in 1991, UK police and legal enquiries failed because (by imposing restrictive criteria about who should be prosecuted) the UK effectively divorced the war crimes process from the Holocaust.
This event is free to attend and all are welcome. There is no need to book.
The talk is hosted by the Centre for Jewish Studies and the School of History at the University of Leeds.
