We are delighted to host Ciara Shalome, creator of the Instagram page the Mizrahi Story.

Now boasting nearly 70K followers on Instagram alone, Mizrahi Story is the social media space where you can find oral histories and cultural traditions of Jews from the Middle East and North Africa - reimagining the archive for the digital age.

Bring your packed lunch while joining us to learn how the project began, some poignant histories, family stories, and the way in which the page is evolving. And obviously, give Ciara a follow on Instagram @themizrahistory!

This event is co-sponsored by the Centre for Jewish Studies and the School of History's GLAM Research Cluster, with introductions by Dr Anne Caldwell (School of History) and a Q&A led by final year student Manon Dean.

About the speaker

Ciara Shalome is the 26-year-old founder of the Instagram page @themizrahistory and is committed to preserving the heritage and culture of the Jews of the Middle East and North Africa through oral storytelling.
